Park City, A Big Little Town

We pulled in yesterday to the Park City RV Resort. This is a bit of a snooty place... you must have a Class A or 5th Wheel to qualify for the upper level concrete pads with manicured lawn. I, on the other hand, am in the second level on gravel with weeds.

But the good news is that the Chevy dealer is right next door! So I pulled in for a check up. I had a flat front right due to a large bolt, so they pulled the spare into action and executed a rotation. I also got a new windshield. The rock I took heading from Ramona to Mission Bay a while back is now history. Notice the after surgery bandages in the photo below. And I have completed the field repair of the trailer as well. Note the latch is in place and a new marker light! And the other great news is that a new CD changer is due to arrive tomorrow morning at 10am. I expect to be back in CD business tomorrow as I drive to Moab. The six disks in confinement will not be returned for a month, so Friedman's new book Flat, Hot and Crowded will have to wait.

Park City fall color is at peak! Enjoy it now, since a foot of snow is expected Saturday and that should put an end to it.

Mount Baldy and the Park City Valley. And today I went biking on the mountain. Desirae at White Pine Touring advised the Flying Dog trail, a 20 mile loop. She encouraged me to approach it counter-clockwise. Good advice! I felt sorry for the few bikers I did see on the trail headed the other way. We all had to climb the hill, my way was rocky with a lot of switchbacks. The down from the peak was smooth and sweet!

Please excuse the white lipstick. I wanted to look good on the trail. After my close call in Cache Creek, today I carried my first aid kit, wore sunscreen and Burt's Bees on my lips - very safe!I took this photo on the way up to show the trail and the red color of this maple tree. There has been a lot of concern out there for Ripley's welfare. He appreciates all your support out there. Please be assured that he is now seeing some fine trail time. Ever since we left the National Parks, he has been free on the trail. Evidence below.

The lower right in this photo below is the RV park in Utah. Note the Chevy dealer to it's left.
And let's all cheer the Dodgers in their first victory of the NLDS. Tonight they go for two!
